Football fans were treated to another thrilling weekend across Ghana, Europe, and beyond.

A weekend packed with thunderous goals, surprise twists, and moments of pure sporting brilliance.

From Kumasi to Munich and Paris, it was drama, passion, and glory in full measure.

Gyau steals the show as Kotoko return to form

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Asante Kotoko emphatically rediscovered their form, brushing aside Karela United 4–2 in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors, under pressure to turn their season around, finally found their rhythm, and at the heart of it was Hubert Gyau.

Watch Hubert Gyau’s thunderous strike in Kotoko’s 4-2 win over Karela

The midfielder was sensational, scoring twice, but it was his second that sent the Baba Yara crowd into wild celebration.

With the game tied at 1–1, Kotoko built from the back before Lord Amoah whipped in a dangerous cross.

Peter Amidu cushioned it into Gyau’s path, and he unleashed a thunderous right-footed strike that crashed into the top corner, a goal worthy of any highlight reel.

Seth Kwadwo and Amidu added the others as Kotoko cruised to victory.

Hearts of Oak climb to fourth, Aduana go top

At the AAK Park, Hearts of Oak continued their steady climb with a 2–1 win over Holy Stars.

Frank Duku and Hamza Issah scored to give the Phobians all three points, lifting them to fourth place, just two points behind league leaders Aduana Stars.

Aduana took full advantage of Medeama’s slip, edging Eleven Wonders 1–0 to move top of the table.

Elsewhere, Dreams FC beat Samartex 2–0, Berekum Chelsea and Bibiani Gold Stars both secured a narrow 1–0 wins, and Swedru All Blacks shared the spoils 1–1 with Heart of Lions.

Salah’s milestone as Liverpool bounce back

In the Premier League, Mohamed Salah marked his 250th Liverpool goal in style as the Reds beat Aston Villa 2–0 at Anfield.

The Egyptian struck on the stroke of halftime, ending Liverpool’s four-match winless run, before Ryan Gravenberch sealed the win with a composed finish.

The result lifted Liverpool back to the third position on the table, restoring belief after a shaky few weeks.

Arsenal extend lead, city keep chase

Arsenal tightened their grip on the top spot with a 2–0 win over Burnley, courtesy of goals from Viktor Gyökeres and Declan Rice. The Gunners now sit six points clear at the top.

Manchester City stayed in pursuit, defeating Bournemouth 3–1 at the Etihad.

Erling Haaland netted twice, and academy graduate Nico O’Reilly added a third, keeping Pep Guardiola’s men second with 19 points.

Chelsea edged Tottenham 1–0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, thanks to Joao Pedro’s goal, a result that left both clubs tied on 17 points, Spurs in fifth and Chelsea in sixth.

At the City Ground, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest played out a pulsating 2–2 draw.

Casemiro’s opener was overturned by quickfire goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona, before Amad Diallo rescued a point for United in the 81st minute.

    Spain: Yamal shines, Madrid ruthless

Barcelona cruised past Elche 3–1 on Sunday, November 2. Lamine Yamal opened the scoring early before Ferran Torres and Marcus Rashford sealed the win.

The result keeps Barça second, five points behind Real Madrid.

Los Blancos, meanwhile, dismantled Valencia 4–0 at the Bernabéu. Kylian Mbappé bagged a brace, while Jude Bellingham and Alvaro Carreras added one each.

Vinícius Jr. missed a penalty but showed class, shaking hands with Xabi Alonso after being subbed off, a rare, mature moment that drew applause from fans.

Bundesliga: Jackson Nicolas breaks his duck as Bayern dominate

In Germany, Bayern Munich were back to their best, brushing aside Bayer Leverkusen 3–0 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

The spotlight, however, belonged to Nicolas Jackson, who scored his first Bundesliga goal since joining the Bavarian giants.

His crisp finish in the first half capped a convincing performance, as Bayern’s attack clicked once again under the Munich lights.

    Africa: Ziyech unveiled in style

In North Africa, Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca celebrated both on and off the pitch.

Before kickoff, they unveiled new signing Hakim Ziyech to a jubilant home crowd. The energy spilled into the game itself as Wydad defeated IR Tanger 2–0, with Ziyech waving proudly from the sidelines.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates share the spoils in thrilling draw

Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates played out an entertaining 1–1 draw at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

The home side drew first blood in the 20th minute when Namibian forward Peter Shalulile fired them ahead with a clinical finish.

But fifteen minutes later, Pirates hit back spectacularly.

Youngster Cemran Dansin stunned the crowd with a thunderous volley from the edge of the box, a strike that left the Sundowns goalkeeper rooted to the spot and fans gasping in disbelief.

Despite chances at both ends, neither side could find a winner, as the game ended all square in a pulsating 1–1 affair.

    Tennis: Sinner claims Paris glory

Away from football, Italy’s Jannik Sinner crowned his impressive season with victory at the Paris ATP Masters.

    The 24-year-old defeated Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime 4–6, 6–7 (4–7) in a tense final that went to a second-set tiebreaker.

Sinner’s composure and precision in key moments earned him the title, as he continues to rise among the sport’s elite.
