Asante Kotoko produced a commanding performance at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 2, 2025, defeating Karela United on matchday 10.

Asante Kotoko secured 4-2 victory over Karela in the encounter but it was Hubert Gyau’s stunning goal that stole the show.

The midfielder, who bagged a brace on the afternoon, raised the atmosphere at the stadium with a spectacular strike midway through the first half.

With the game tied at 1-1, Kotoko built patiently from the back before Lord Amoah whipped in a teasing cross into the box.

Peter Amidu smartly cushioned the ball into Gyau’s path, and the forward needed no second invitation.

Just a few metres outside the edge of the box, Gyau unleashed a thunderous right-footed effort that rocketed into the top corner, leaving the Karela goalkeeper with no chance.

The goal sent the home fans into raptures and swung the momentum firmly in Kotoko’s favour.

The goal was Gyau’s second in the game before teammates Seth Kwadwo and Peter Amidu also found the back of the net to secure a comfortable 4-2 victory.

The win capped off an impressive afternoon for Kotoko, who now move to the eighth position with 11 points, having played 3 games less.
