More details are emerging, particularly about the facts surrounding the physical assault video involving a soldier, whose identity has now been established, and two civilians.

The incident, which was first brought to the fore by GHOne TV, showed a CCTV footage that showed the military man, identified as WOI Williams Mensah in plain clothes, physically assaulting two civilians at a pharmacy at Burma Camp.

It was earlier reported that the suspect, WOI Mensah, assaulted the two people when he demanded a refund of about GH¢65.00 after rejecting medication he had sent a boy to purchase on his behalf.

The attendant reportedly informed him that drugs sold are non-refundable, which infuriated the man and led him to assault both the attendant and the woman.

In a new report, media personality Fred Duhoe has provided fresh details on the incident’s background, including what he says are specific facts.

According to him, the suspect, WOI Mensah, sent his son on an errand to a pharmacy to purchase a dewormer.

He further revealed that upon arriving at the pharmacy, the son was reportedly given three different options for the dewormer, each with a different price.

The son, in turn, reportedly chose the dewormer priced at GH¢65.00, which was rejected by his father, WO1 Mensah, who returned with him to demand a refund.

Duhoe further stated that the suspect called the pharmacy attendant through his son’s phone and was informed that, per the pharmacy’s policy, medicines cannot be returned.

“WO1 Williams Mensah sent his son to buy a dewormer. The son was presented with three options. He chose the one that cost GH₵65. The father rejected the medicine and sent the son back for a refund. He called the pharmacy through the son’s phone. It was explained to him that medicines purchased are not returnable (no refund),” he posted on Facebook on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Duhoe additionally disclosed that the female victim, who was captured on video being physically assaulted, is the daughter of a two-star military general.

Her attempt to film the suspect after he shoved her led to him slapping and beating her, even after she had exited the pharmacy.

“The son went home and returned with WOI. WOI demanded the refund, as captured on CCTV. The daughter of the Two-Star General was there to purchase medicine. WOI, out of anger, assaulted both the attendant and the female customer. The lady attempted to film him and was slapped and beaten again, even outside the pharmacy. The pharmacy attendant refunded the GH₵65 when he returned a second time. The WOI has since been arrested by MP,” he added.
