A stalker was caught smirking at police officers as they arrested her for subjecting two victims to a four year campaign of abusive harassment.

Samantha Wall made the lives of Brad Burton and Naomi Timperley hell by posting false claims about them on social media in ‘deliberate and calculated campaign of online stalking of the most egregious kind’.

The digital marketing expert claimed Mr Burton, 52, was in prison, had slashed her tyres and at one stage falsely claimed to her 30,000 followers that he was a sex offender who had been jailed for harassing her.

Ms Timperley, 53, was also subjected to two-and-a-half years of harassment and abusive messages posted online after she connected with Wall over social media.

The pair had never met but in her victim impact statement, Ms Timperley said her name had been ‘dragged through the dirt of digital spaces that once held community but became cages of cruelty’.

Wall was finally jailed for two years and four months last week after pleading guilty to five charges of stalking, harassment and malicious communications at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

Her arrest at her dingy and cluttered house was captured on police body camera, where she he can be seen smiling at officers as the charges are read out to her.

‘Are you arresting me now?’ she asks police before being taken to into custody, later insisting that she was instead the victim.

The ordeal for her first victim Mr Burton started back in 2019 when he hosted an event at Aston Villa Football Club. The motivational speaker appeared in front of around 200 people, including Wall.

During the event they had a short chat which lasted no longer than two minutes and she asked him to pose for a photo. They had no further contact.

Throughout the rest of 2019 and 2020, he was informed that social media accounts named Sam Wall were posting comments saying that he had been personally harassing her for more than a decade.

Wall was blocked from his accounts, but her abuse didn’t stop.

In 2021, he spoke with two legal companies who wrote to her asking her to stop her social media updates against him.

But she continued – saying he had tried to kill her cat, had destroyed her property and that he was under investigation for harassing her and was serving a nine-year prison sentence.

In February 2023, Wall posted that her victim had a psychopathic twin brother who was covering for him whilst he was in jail, another lie.

She also claimed he was having affairs – particularly upsetting for Mr Burton who is married.

Ms Timperley was also targeted by Wall after connecting on LinkedIn. She had been left on anti-depressants and requiring therapy because of Wall’s behaviour.

Wall, of Cheadle, Greater Manchester, pleaded guilty to five charges of stalking, harassment and malicious communications in November 2024 at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

PC Wayne Hasselby, leading the case for Greater Manchester Police, said: ‘These types of cases are extremely traumatic for victims to go through.

‘Samantha Wall targeted her victims relentlessly for years, posting false and damaging messages to social media without reason.

‘Stalking is typically described as being fixated and persistent behaviour.

‘The impact can often be underestimated, particularly if it’s online.

‘However, online stalking can leave victims and survivors fearful of every move they make, as they never know what these individuals are capable of, or whether they know their physical whereabouts.

‘It is hard to escape online harassment, as so much of our lives are now online.

‘This particular campaign of harassment took a toll on her victims’ mental health and day to day life.

‘I’m glad this has finally been put to an end, and they can now find some closure and move on with their lives. Samantha Wall must now pay the price for her actions.

‘I encourage those who think they are being harassed or stalked, whether that be online or physically, to get in touch with us.

‘We’re committed to putting a stop to these types of crimes and to bring charges against those who commit these awful offences.’
