Ghanaian photographer Sawer John Amonor has shared reflections on his professional journey, highlighting how his work has taken him from modest beginnings to becoming one of the most trusted photographers within the Ghana Police Service.

In a recent post on social media, Amonor expressed gratitude for the opportunities photography has brought him, describing his camera as a constant companion that has opened doors and shaped his experiences.

“These cameras have been of great help to me chale. I’ve had the privilege of capturing moments I never thought I’d capture,” he said.

“I’ve become one of the most trusted hands in the Ghana Police Service. Photography has taken me to places and events, met and seen people I never thought of meeting.”

Amonor noted that his work has allowed him to cover major national events, including Independence Day parades, state ceremonies, cultural festivals, and traditional gatherings.

Over the years, he has photographed leaders, dignitaries, and everyday citizens, capturing stories that reflect Ghana’s diversity and shared heritage.

He also took a moment to thank those who have supported him along the way.

“I’ve photographed leaders, dignitaries, and everyday people, telling their stories and preserving memories. These moments, I don’t take for granted. Thank you for holding me down always. Grateful for the journey thus far.”

Amonor’s reflection offers a glimpse into the personal side of a photographer whose work continues to contribute to national documentation and public storytelling across Ghana.
