    A story shared on social media has sparked conversations after a lady turned down her fiancé’s proposal because he wanted her to quit her career and become a full-time housewife.

    An X (Twitter) user recounted how his cousin’s father sponsored her education at one of the best universities in Italy, where she studied Architecture and Design.

    After returning to Nigeria, she began her professional career and later met a man who proposed marriage.

    Their relationship took a turn when her fiancé told her he expected her to give up her career after marriage to focus solely on taking care of the home.

    However, she refused and told him that if her father wanted her to become a full-time housewife, he wouldn’t have spent thousands of euros sending her to one of the best universities.

    According to the tweet, the lady later married a man who supported her ambitions, and together they now have children and a thriving family life.

    He concluded the post by saying; “As a lady married shouldn’t stop your dreams and goals in life , it should enhance it.”
