    The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has announced that condolence visits will be held only on weekdays until further notice.

    In a statement issued from the office of former President Jerry John Rawlings, the family said visits should be scheduled in advance by calling 0276500008 to arrange a date and time. No visits will be accepted on weekends.

    The public, friends, and institutions are also encouraged to send tributes via email to [TRIBUTES@NANAKONADUAGYEMANRAWLINGS.ORG (mailto: TRIBUTES@NANAKONADUAGYEMANRAWLINGS.ORG) or deliver hard copies to the Office of the Former President at No. 1 Sekou Toure Link, Cantonments, Accra.

    Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital after a short illness.\

    Born on November 17, 1948, she was the founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement and a pioneering advocate for women’s empowerment, literacy, and economic inclusion.

    As Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady, she played a central role in shaping women’s rights policies and later became politically active as Vice Chairperson of the NDC before founding the National Democratic Party (NDP).

    She is survived by her four children — Zanetor, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina, and Kimathi Rawlings.
