Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal found himself at the center of a controversy after his side lost 2-1 to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Yamal delivered a disappointing performance, recording no shots on target and losing possession more than 20 times during the match.
Real Madrid right-back, Álvaro Carreras marked the young winger intensively, effectively limiting his ability to create chances and score to help his team.

Before the match, Yamal gave an interview in which he accused Real Madrid of cheating to win games.
“They [Real Madrid] steal, they complain… of course they do. Last time I went to the Bernabéu, we won 4-0… Don’t you remember last season?” he said on Twitch.
Reports indicated that the comment infuriated Real Madrid players, who felt offended by the accusation and reacted strongly.
After the final whistle, Spanish national team captain Dani Carvajal approached Yamal and gestured that he talks too much.
The 18-year-old appeared angry and attempted to confront Carvajal, but his teammates quickly intervened and urged him to leave the pitch.
On his way out, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Vinícius Júnior also moved toward him, but match officials escorted Yamal off the field.
The incident highlighted the tense rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as the impact of Yamal’s disrespectful comments.
