    An unidentified boy has reportedly drowned in a pit filled with water near the West Hills Mall area at Abuom in the Greater Accra Region.

    A video circulating on X on Sunday, October 26, 2025, captured personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service at the scene, working tirelessly to drain the water in an effort to retrieve the boy’s body.

    Tragedy as 7-year-old boy drowns in heavy rainfall at Abrepo

    Eyewitnesses say the boy is believed to have accidentally fallen into the uncovered pit.

    Attempts by residents to rescue him were unsuccessful due to the depth and murky conditions of the water.

    The distressing footage captures firefighters using pumps while onlookers watch anxiously.
