The Me Boafo Foundation, dedicated to improving access to quality education in rural communities, officially cut the sod for the construction of a 6-unit classroom block for the Abamkrom Islamic Basic School in the Upper West Akim District.

The commemorative ceremony, held recently in Abamkrom, saw the Me Boafo Foundation team join hands with the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Upper West Akim, Rebecca Chissah, alongside the chiefs and elders of the community, signaling a strong collaborative commitment to educational development.

This significant initiative, aptly named the “Classroom of Hope Project,” aims to provide a conducive and modern learning environment for pupils in the area.

    Securing the Vision

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Maxwell Okpoti Mensah (PhD), Co-founder and Director of the Me Boafo Foundation, expressed deep gratitude for the pivotal role played by the leadership in securing international support.

Dr. Mensah specifically acknowledged Dr. Emmanuel O. Addo, Founder and Executive Director of the Me Boafo Foundation, for his exceptional efforts in securing the comprehensive funding required for the project from the Ebro Foundation in Spain.

“This project reflects our collective vision to enhance access to quality education,” stated Dr. Mensah. He further encouraged the community to actively support the construction and long-term sustainability of the structure, emphasizing the collective responsibility necessary to make the initiative impactful for generations to come.

    A Model of Partnership

DCE Rebecca Chissah commended the Me Boafo Foundation and its partners for their unwavering commitment to investing in the future of the district’s children.

“The greatest investment we can make as leaders is in our children’s future,” DCE Chissah noted. “This project is a shining example of true partnership for development, and we are grateful that the Foundation chose the Upper West Akim District for this vital improvement.”

The Chief of Abamkrom also shared his appreciation for the development, highlighting the immediate relief the new facility will bring to both students and parents currently struggling with inadequate infrastructure.

“This classroom block will bring great relief to our pupils and parents,” the Chief stated. “We will, in turn, do our part to protect and support this project until its successful completion.”

The Me Boafo Foundation extended its heartfelt appreciation to all supporting partners, including the Ebro Foundation and all local sponsors and stakeholders, for their continued support in transforming this vision into a tangible reality for the Abamkrom community.

About the Me Boafo Foundation: The Me Boafo Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to quality education and healthcare, particularly in rural and underserved communities across Ghana.
