    An old video of the late Asantehene, Otumfuo Opoku Ware II, has resurfaced on the internet, capturing one of his visits to London.

    In the video making waves on X on October 14, 2025, Asantehene Opoku Ware II is seen visiting the Commonwealth Institute in London for the commissioning of the Kotoko House.

    The late Asantehene, dressed in traditional Ghanaian Kente with matching royal ornaments, is seen stepping down from a black Rolls-Royce Phantom VI while being welcomed by officials representing the late Queen Elizabeth II.

    Per reports gathered by GhanaWeb, the Asantehene not only commissioned the hostel meant for Commonwealth students in East London but also opened a day nursery for individuals within the Commonwealth community.

    According to reports, the said video was taken in July 1972.

    Meanwhile, the footage has triggered reactions online among netizens.

    In a series of posts, many users praised the late Asantehene and the entire Asante Kingdom.
