Popular content creator Asherkine has opened up about his decision to step back from creating binge-eating food videos.

In a post shared on X (Twitter), the food enthusiast revealed that while he genuinely enjoyed filming large meal content, the physical and mental toll became too serious to ignore.

Asherkine admitted that what began as creative expression soon turned into compulsive eating.

This led to a series of health issues, including abdominal discomfort, heart palpitations, weight gain, irregular sleep, high blood pressure, and chronic fatigue.

Beyond the physical symptoms, he described the internal struggle as far more difficult. Now two years into confronting the disorder, Asherkine says he’s more aware of its lingering effects.

“Even though I had an active lifestyle at the time and tried to stay fit, I lost the concept of moderation as mindless binge eating became the OOTD even when I wasn’t creating content. I wouldn’t stop eating until I started to feel abdominal discomfort. Gluttony had made its way aside the general discomfort, heart palpitations, excess weight gain, irregular sleep, sneaky high blood pressure count, constant fatigue, and so on…The mental battle to beat gluttony is probably the hardest thing to deal with. I can’t express how disrespectful gluttony is and how much power it holds, but it’s mad underrated. It’s 2 years later, and I still chat to the pit in my tummy.“ He wrote

While he isn’t quitting food content altogether, Asherkine made it clear that it will no longer be produced in the same high-volume, binge-focused format.

The post has sparked conversations around content creation burnout, disordered eating, and the blurred lines between entertainment and health, especially for creators in the food space.
