Clergyman Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has said he would rather watch pornography than sit through a Black Stars match, expressing his disappointment with the team’s current performance.

Speaking on United Showbiz on UTV on October 11, 2025, Kumchacha said he once enjoyed watching the national football team, especially during the era of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, and Kevin-Prince Boateng.

According to him, that was when the Black Stars played “real football”

“I only used to watch the Black Stars when they were performing well, back in the days of Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, and Kevin-Prince Boateng. That was when they actually played good football,” he said.

However, Kumchacha admitted that he has lost interest in the current team, saying their performances in recent years have been uninspiring. In his view, it would be a waste of time to sit through their matches.

“But I stopped watching this current Black Stars team a long time ago. Honestly, I would rather watch pornography than sit to watch a Black Stars game,” Kumchacha said.

His comment caused a stir among the panelists on United Showbiz, prompting laughter and murmurs across the studio.

The host, gospel musician Empress Gifty, asked whether he would not prefer to spend that time reading the Bible instead. In response, Kumchacha said he already had enough scriptures in his head.

He further explained that people like him, who speak bluntly, are often misunderstood and labeled as bad people.

Kumchacha also joked that if everyone on the panel were to have their phones checked for explicit content, some might not be as innocent as they appeared.

“People like us who speak the truth plainly are often labeled as bad people. Yet, if we were to check the phones of everyone gathered here…” he added.
