A woman died of a heart attack while riding the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland in California on Monday evening.
Anaheim Fire & Rescue responded to the scene at 6:30pm on a report that there was an unresponsive woman in her 60s on the ride, The Orange County Register reported.
Members of Disneyland’s security team provided CPR to the woman until paramedics arrived, according to Sergeant Matt Sutter with the Anaheim Police Department.
She was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead, Sutter said.
The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner will be responsible for determining the cause of death, Sutter added.
The woman’s name, exact age or city of residence has not been released by Disneyland or Anaheim Fire officials.
Matt Desmond, an influencer who goes by DisneyScoopGuy, first shared the news on X, writing: ‘Sending condolences to her family and loved ones’.
The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland first opened on August 9, 1969, and is a low-speed ride that ‘contains some mildly frightening scenes’ but no gore, according to the theme park’s website.

There are Haunted Mansion rides at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park in Orlando, Florida, as well as Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
The death comes after multiple people had been injured in recent months on Universal Orlando’s new 62mph rollercoaster, the Stardust Racers ride.
On September 17, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, 32, was killed on the ride due to blunt force trauma.
Authorities have not shared how he sustained the trauma, but the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate.
