The burial of the late highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, is scheduled for December 6, 2025, in Kumasi.

According to an announcement made by DL FM, the ceremony will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital after a short illness. He was 60 years old.

His death has since prompted an outpouring of grief across the country and condolences from public figures, including current and former presidents.

In tribute, the Creative Arts Agency, in collaboration with the Fosu family, organised a national candlelight vigil at Independence Square on August 2, 2025, running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and former Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong added a political touch to the solemn event.

The event was filled with performances of Daddy Lumba’s timeless hits, including ‘Aben Wo Ha’, ‘Sika Asem’, and ‘Theresa’.
