The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has clarified his remarks on Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and her potential to assume the presidency.
Speaking at the Ghana Teacher Prize event at the University of Health and Allied Sciences on Sunday, October 5, 2025, he stated,” …There are many of you who sought to give it your own interpretation. Professor Jane, I’m reminding them that my mother taught me that sometimes silence is golden, because silence cannot be interpreted. But this one, I wanted an interpretation, because a Vice President, irrevocably, is a presumption that she can assume the high office of President”.
His comments followed an expression of goodwill for Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, praying that she may one day become Ghana’s first female president.
