Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Addai climbed off the bench to score and seal victory for Qarabag FK in their UEFA Champions League matchday 2 clash against Danish giants FC Copenhagen.

The 24-year-old, who came on with 20 minutes remaining, needed 13 minutes to make an impact after cleverly finishing a move from the hosts in the 83rd minute.

Addai received a pass from Nariman Ahmad Akhundzade before fending off his marker to make space and power the ball into the net.

Qarabag took the lead early in the first half through Abdella Zoubir before the Ghanaian completed the win late in Baku.

The victory lifts the Azerbaijani giants to fourth on the UEFA Champions League table after back-to-back wins, including an opening success over Portuguese side SL Benfica.

Addai’s strike against Copenhagen is his first in Europe’s elite competition after eight games, with six coming from the qualifying run.
