The highly anticipated sitting in Parliament on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, has been characterised by tension and thrills on social media.

It appears today will not be an ordinary session, as MPs from both the Majority and Minority factions are vying for the Majority seats.

The NDC MPs are adamant that they are the Majority and will take their place in the Majority section of the Parliament chamber.

This follows Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration of four seats as vacant, which has shifted the NDC from being a minority to the majority in Parliament.

The NPP MPs, who were originally the Majority, are distressed by this development and have escalated the matter to the Supreme Court, which has temporarily frozen the Speaker’s order.

As it stands, the NPP has been allowed to continue their role as the Majority until further notice.

Currently, both the NDC and NPP are claiming to be the Majority in Parliament.

Amid this confusion, Ghanaians are bracing for potential chaos, as both factions are reported to be seated in the Majority section of Parliament.
