As a nursing officer, health advocate, humanitarian, and philanthropist, Mr. Owusu-Ansah is a beacon of hope for both patients in urban and remote areas and future generations pursuing healthcare as a profession.

Mr. Benjamin Owusu-Ansah has spent his career life in transforming healthcare delivery and uplifting the lives of the vulnerable in the Offinso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

In Ghana’s Ashanti Region, where healthcare challenges often intersect with rural hardships, a new paradigm shift is emerging, driven by individuals like Mr. Benjamin Fosu Owusu-Ansah.

His path is a trailblazer of service, innovation, and selfless dedication.

Mr. Owusu-Ansah began his nursing career in 2012 at Mathias Catholic Hospital in Yeji, Bono East, where he embraced compassion, innovative ideas, and an unyielding commitment to patient care.

Over the years, he has worked across facilities in the Bono East and Ashanti Regions and currently serves as a nursing officer and clinical coordinator at Abofour Health Centre in the Offinso Municipality.

Despite the challenges of poor roads, limited electricity, and scarce resources, Benjamin has consistently found ways to reach hopeless patients, often transporting expectant mothers on his personal motorbike to save lives without hesitation.

His iconic Community Mobile Clinic initiative and commitment to home visits and health talks have extended healthcare access to remote communities where formal services are hard to reach.

Benjamin has generously donated fetal Dopplers, BP monitors, pulse oximeters, portable haemoglobin (Hb) machines, and pen torches to improve safe delivery and maternal care.

Benjamin has also installed solar lighting at Offinso Amaning CHPS Compound, supplied a double-decker refrigerator for vaccines and medicines, and provided a 32-inch television for public health education and campaign.

His community support and advocacy have inspired other philanthropists to provide wheelchairs, relief items, and medical bill support for the needy.

He has sponsored apprenticeships in sewing, carpentry, mechanics, and baking, giving disadvantaged youth a chance at financial independence in Offinso.

As a nursing officer, he is currently working to establish a sustainable sanitary pad bank for rural girls, ensuring dignity and menstrual hygiene.

Benjamin’s community outreach and public health campaign have provided countless free health talks and screening in schools, churches, mosques, and communities.

For over six years of his profession, Benjamin Fosu Owusu-Ansah has formed partnerships with NGOs, philanthropists, and community leaders to support his vision.

Through these partnerships, he has mobilized support in the form of cash, food supplements, clothing, shoes, school supplies, and National Health Insurance enrollments for underprivileged families.

His initiatives have touched hundreds of vulnerable lives, strengthening healthcare, empowering the poor, supporting girl-child education, and providing hope where it is most needed.

Benjamin’s commitment to providing quality healthcare to rural communities has earned him several accolades, including the Ashanti Regional Best Nurse and Offinso Municipal Best Nurse awards from the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) in 2019.

He has also received the Best Humanitarian Health Worker award from Humanitarian Awards Global in 2021 and the Best Youth in Health Science Award from the Ghana Youth Leaders Awards in 2022.

Most recently, Benjamin was recognized with the Minister of Health Deprived Area Award: Outstanding Nurse by the Ministry of Health Awards in 2025.

Benjamin’s academic background is equally impressive, with a Certificate in Clinical Healthcare from Sunyani Nurses and Midwifery Training College, a BSc in Nursing from the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Diploma in Education from the University of Education, Winneba and Dwamena Akenten Senior High School in Offinso.

His diverse qualifications have strengthened his clinical and advocacy capacity, enabling him to make a meaningful impact in his community.

Through his work, Benjamin has demonstrated that with dedication, passion, and hard work, individuals can make a significant difference in the lives of others.

His story serves as an inspiration to many, and his contributions to healthcare will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the Ashanti Region and Ghana at large.
