Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric has hailed Kamaldeen Sulemana after the Ghanaian forward produced his most decisive display yet in Serie A during their 3-0 win over Torino.
Making just his fourth league appearance since arriving from Southampton, Sulemana registered his first goal and assist for the club in a performance that underlined his growing influence in Bergamo.
The Black Stars winger struck in the first half when his scuffed effort rolled beyond the Torino goalkeeper to double Atalanta’s lead, before later setting up Nikola Krstovic for a simple tap-in to make it 3-0.
Juric was quick to single out the 22-year-old’s contribution alongside Krstovic, noting the intensity and discipline both players brought to the game.
“They [Kamaldeen and Krstovic] came in super motivated and Kamaldeen played a great game today both technically in terms of speed and quality but also in the defensive phase which works very well,” he told the club’s media after the match.
Sulemana’s 87-minute display was a timely response after he was left out of Atalanta’s 4-0 defeat to UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.
His form offers Juric fresh options in attack as Atalanta push to consolidate their place near the top of the Serie A standings.
