Bibiani Gold Stars are set to appoint former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu as head coach after parting ways with their celebrated head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso just months after leading the club’s historic first-ever Ghana Premier League title.

This mutual agreement to part ways was announced on Monday, September 22, 2025, following a humiliating 2-0 home defeat to Algerian powerhouse JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg.

52-year-old Konadu is expected to sign a two-year contract and bring a wealth of top-flight experience from stints at Asante Kotoko, Legon Cities, and Nsoatreman FC.

Manso’s assistant, Nana Yaw Amankwah, who only returned to the club at the end of last season, will now take charge of preparations ahead of the return leg in Algeria on Sunday.

Maxwell Konadu will officially take over as Bibiani’s new head coach after the Sunday CAF preliminary 2nd leg game against JS Kabylie in Algeria.
