The Chief Executive Officer of Ayalolo Bus Rapid Transit, Nana Bugyei, has alleged that he and his staff were forcefully evicted from the Tudu and Adenta terminals on December 9, 2024, and have since been denied access despite holding valid contracts.

Speaking on Asempa FM, he claimed that individuals believed to be affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stormed the terminals following the elections and forcibly removed his workers.

He stated that police intervention proved ineffective, and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) later asserted ownership of the facilities.

Bugyei further revealed that the Ministry of Transport recently threatened to terminate his contract due to his failure to submit financial accounts, a move he described as unjust, considering the circumstances surrounding the takeover.

“My contracts for both the Adenta and Tudu terminals remain valid, and I report directly to the Ministry of Transport. Less than a month ago, the ministry wrote to me, demanding that I submit my accounts or risk cancellation of my contract by August 15. I responded, explaining that after the December 9 elections, NDC supporters came to my office while I was away, drove my staff out, and took control of the terminal,” he said.

He added, “I involved the police, but they were unable to intervene. Later, I was informed that the AMA is now claiming ownership of the location. Nonetheless, I still hold valid contracts for both Adenta and Tudu.”
