Rev. Obofour has appealed to Ghanaians to forgive Salifu Amoako Rev. Obofour has appealed to Ghanaians to forgive Salifu Amoako

The Founder and Leader of Anointed Palace Chapel, Reverend Kwaku Agyei Antwi, has made a heartfelt appeal to the families of the young girls who died in the tragic East Legon accident, urging them to forgive Bishop Salifu Amoako for his son’s actions.

Making the appeal in his church auditorium during Sunday service, Rev. Obofour, as he is affectionately known, said that Salifu Amoako is going through a difficult time, just like the families mourning their losses.

According to him, Salifu Amoako is not a bad person and therefore deserves mercy and compassion from Ghanaians.

“What has happened can befall anyone. He has rendered an apology to the bereaved families to be forgiven. He is a humble person and I am begging on his behalf to the family to forgive him. It is not easy to lose your child.

“I am on my knees begging for him. Forgive him because he is not a bad person. He knows the teachings of God and that what has happened to him is just trouble that has come his way. This is not the time for some pastors to rise and fight against him [Salifu Amoako]. Let us all Christians rise up and pray for him and his family,” he said.

Rev. Obofour further stated that he stands as a neutral party in appealing for Salifu Amoako and is not trying to take sides.

He also revealed that his son attends the same school with the deceased girls.

“My son attends the same school as the deceased girls. I’m not speaking to take sides, I speak neutrally and I’m begging Ghanaians to have mercy on the man [Salifu]. Since he started his ministry, he has served God in truth and so we plead that every pain and anger that has risen due to the case must be calmed.

“This past few days, Salifu Amoako has gone through a lot because he has been crying and is going through pain. Let us not persecute and backlash him because of what he has said or what has happened but rather look at all the years he has served God in truth,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bishop Salifu Amoako, General Overseer of Alive Chapel International Ministry, has come under intense backlash for comments that many Ghanaians have deemed insensitive.

Addressing his congregants on Sunday, October 20, 2024, Salifu Amoako stated in a video posted on X by CITI FM and seen by GhanaWeb, “It was an accident. My son did not carry a gun to go and kill somebody. My son involved himself in a terrible accident. I was not the one who did it. Neither his mother.

“It is because of my name, that is why the thing is going everywhere. If this car had hit an Okada, who is going to mention it? It is just because of my name. So let’s see what the Lord will do.”
