German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, got off to a sparkling start in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League (UCL) after they hammered Chelsea 3-1 at the Allianz Arena on September 18, 2025.
The German club piled immense pressure on the Blues from the blow of the whistle with an all-attacking game, pushing their arsenal forward.
Their intensity-driven play paid off as Michael Olise’s cross from the wings was met by Trevoh Chalobah, who scored an own goal to give Bayern the lead in the 20th minute.
Chelsea struggled to contain the German-based club as Moises Caicedo’s tackle on Harry Kane was adjudged a foul, which the English striker neatly converted.

Shortly afterward, the London-based club scored through Cole Palmer, who slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the post to make it 2-1.
After the recess, Chelsea’s quest to find the equaliser was foiled as players like Pedro Neto and Joao Pedro were unable to penetrate the Bavarians’ defense to score.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Kane, scored the third goal with a brilliant strike inside the penalty box to seal an emphatic 3-1 victory.
Bayern have bagged three points from their first game, while Chelsea will look forward to getting a win in their next game to keep their hopes of finishing among the top eight teams alive.
