A New York City woman was fatally stabbed by deranged moped riders after her husband pulled over on the side of the road to pee, the widower told police.
Anthonella Contreras Linarez, 30, of the Bronx, was in the car with her 44-year-old husband to eat dinner with a friend on Wednesday night.
Trouble arose when the woman’s husband had to relieve himself, he told cops, and he parked on the side of a dark road to do so.
While he was urinating in nearby bushes, registered nurse Contreras Linarez was left alone in the vehicle as two men were said to have driven up to her on a scooter.
They viciously demanded money, her husband recalled. But Contreras Linarez refused to hand over anything – which is when the situation took a turn for the worse.
One of the culprits jumped off the moped and started relentlessly stabbing her across her face, neck and body.
Her husband then noticed the commotion and rushed to his wife’s aid, police said. But one of the muggers then slashed him across his arm before riding away.
After being attacked, the injured husband claimed he got back in his car and drove to a New Rochelle hospital, where Contreras Linarez succumbed to her severe injuries.

Police stated that the man was in stable condition and had been discharged from the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made, the NYPD told the Daily Mail.
PIX 11 reported on Thursday that investigators were probing the possibility that the husband may have made up the mugging.
The outlet said the man was in police custody for interrogation. The NYPD did not confirm this information to the Daily Mail.
Contreras Linarez’s husband could not be reached by phone on Thursday evening.
According to her LinkedIn, Contreras Linarez was a registered nurse at Mount Sinai Morningside.
She studied at Manhattanville University, where she graduated last year, according to social media posts from her family.

Her untimely death comes less than a month after Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zartuska, 23, was fatally stabbed while riding the light rail home from work in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Zartuska was allegedly murdered by career criminal Decarlos Brown, 34, on the night of August 22.
Like Contreras Linarez, Zartuska suffered stab wounds to her neck before passing away from her severe injuries.
