The Bono Regional Minister, Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboah, has urged staff of Municipal and District Assemblies to put aside their political colours to help fast track the development of the region.

He noted that high productivity by the various assemblies was a key indicator in qualifying them to secure donor support for their development initiatives.

Addressing a meeting with staff of the Dormaa East District Assembly as part of his familiarisation visit there on Friday, Mr Addae Akwaboah gave the assurance that all abandoned legacy projects initiated by previous governments would be completed to ensure value for money.

“I am aware of your challenges, and I assure you of my commitment to resolve them to enhance your work,” he stated.

During an open forum, staff raised concerns such as delayed promotions, inadequate personnel in some departments of the Assembly, and the negative impact these issues have on productivity. The Regional Minister, however, pledged to address the challenges to ensure the effective running of the Assembly.

Later, at a durbar, Mr Addae Akwaboah announced government plans to support poultry farmers in the Dormaa enclave.

The District, which is a major hub for poultry farming, would benefit from the government’s Akokonkitenten programme, designed to boost poultry production nationwide.

“The poultry farmers will be provided with day-old chicks, poultry feeds among others to support them do their poultry business,” he noted.
