Bibiani Gold Stars racked up a 2-0 win against Aduana Stars at Dun’s Park on Sunday, October 20, 2024, to maintain their lead atop the league standings.

The Miners struck early to get on the scoreboard after Ronald Frimpong got the opener just six minutes into the game.

Frimpong Manso’s team controlled the game for most of the half and went into the break with their narrow lead.

The hosts got the cushion they needed after scoring again after the recess. Samuel Atta Kumi netted in the 73rd minute to double their lead.

Gold Stars were coasting at 2-0 and ensured there was no chance for the Fire Boys to come back into the game.

The Miners enjoy a one-point lead on the standings with Asante Kotoko in hot pursuit.

Manso’s side will also be glad to preserve their unbeaten run at home as they made it four wins on the spin.

For Aduana Stars, this is their third defeat of the campaign after they failed to build on their win over Dreams FC last weekend.

They are living precariously in the danger zone and will hope for a turnaround when they host Medeama for their next match.

Gold Stars will embark on a tricky trip to Accra Hearts of Oak.
