The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season officially begins on September 12, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium with president Mahama performing the ceremonial kick-off ahead of the opener between Accra Hearts of Oak and debutants Hohoe United.

The new season kicks off with 8 of the 18 clubs appointing new managers to lead their campaigns.

Debutants, Hohoe United have hired the services of Tijani Abdul Rahim Bashiru who previously coached Young Apostles and Legon Cities to replace Osei Shaibu, who does not have the required qualification to lead the team in the GPL.

GPL giants Hearts of Oak have appointed a seasoned Ghanaian coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani to succeed Aboubakar Ouattara, to prepare and build a competitive team capable of winning the league.

Swedru All Blacks opted for an Egyptian tactician, Ahmed Ibrahim Fathi who has been tasked to maintain their Premier League status.

Winfred Dormon will be leading Dreams FC while Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway goes to Bechem to lead the Hunters.

Abu Abdul Hanan was appointed by Young Apostles FC in July 2025 to lead the team into the 2025/2026 season replacing Abdul Rahim Bashiru Tijani.

Techiman Eleven Wonders in August 2025 appointed Nii Odartey Lamptey as the head coach to guide the team in the 2025/2026 season.

Coach Augustine Evans Adotey has also been tasked with the survival of Basake Holy Stars.
