Secret Service missed LOADED glock at Trump’s golf club while president was on site

By PHILLIP NIETO, US POLITICAL REPORTER

    Published: 13:20 EDT, 10 September 2025 | Updated: 13:38 EDT, 10 September 2025

The Secret Service is under fire after a bombshell report details how agents failed to detect a loaded Glock handgun in a guest’s bag at President Donald Trump’s DC golf club while he was on site.

Agents only discovered the handgun after the individual, who was a member at Trump National Golf Club Washington DC, informed the Secret Service, according to RealClearPolitics.

The August 31st incident is currently under investigation by the president’s protective agency. The individual carrying the handgun was described by agents as ‘cooperative’ with law enforcement.

The club member managed to move through security checkpoints while forgetting that he was carrying the gun in his bag when he entered the golf club.

Agents reportedly searched the bag, but failed to discover the loaded gun. The club member informed the Secret Service of the weapon later that day.

According to the report, the club member was interviewed by agents about the experience as part of their investigation into the breach.

The Secret Service placed the Uniformed Division officer who searched the man’s bag containing the Glock on administrative leave as the investigation takes place.

‘The U.S. Secret Service takes the safety and security of our sites very seriously and there are redundant security layers built into every one,’ a Secret Service spokesperson said in a statement to RCP.

‘The Secret Service initiated an internal review into employee conduct after a member of a Virginia golf club notified the agency that they inadvertently brought their firearm into a protective site on August 31.’

This is a developing story and will be updated.
