    Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, is under investigation by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for alleged fraud, causing financial loss to the state, falsification of documents, and money laundering, GhanaWeb has learned.

    He was picked up from his Kumasi residence on September 3, 2025, and has since been granted GH¢10 million bail with two sureties, though he remains in EOCO custody pending further investigation.

    His lawyer, Enoch Afoakwa, prior to the recent development, confirmed on Thursday, September 4, 2025, that Akpaloo has not been formally charged but has been cautioned in connection with offences under investigation.

    Afoakwa earlier described the matter as a civil commercial dispute currently before the Commercial Division of the High Court in Accra.

    Meanwhile, EOCO has yet to issue an official statement on the arrest of the 2024 presidential candidate.
