Members of Parliament will face the members of the Judiciary at the 2025 Democracy Cup Members of Parliament will face the members of the Judiciary at the 2025 Democracy Cup

The 2025 Democracy Cup officially kicks off on Friday, September 5, at the Legon Stadium in Accra, with a curtain-raiser that promises entertainment, rivalry, and plenty of laughter.

Before the much-anticipated headline clash between city giants Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics, the spotlight will fall on an unlikely but spirited contest: Parliament versus the Judiciary.

The Parliamentarians will be led by Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, who captains a side determined to show that lawmakers are not only skilled in debate but can also hold their own on the football pitch.

Facing them is the Judiciary team, equally motivated to prove that the men and women of the bench can deliver more than just verdicts; they can score goals too.

More than just a warm-up, this clash is a celebration of Ghana’s democratic spirit, using football as the common ground to unite leaders, institutions, and fans alike.

Expect competitive action, moments of humour, and an atmosphere that sets the tone for the grand showdown later in the evening.
