The Ghanaian champions, Police Ladies, suffered a disappointing end to their 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League campaign following a 4-1 defeat to hosts ASEC Mimosas on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Led by coach Yussif Basigi, the Police Ladies were outplayed at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, during the WAFU B Qualifiers.

ASEC Mimosas struck first just before halftime, capitalising on a lapse in the Police Ladies’ defense. They doubled their lead two minutes into the second half, as the Ghanaian side returned from the break hoping to get back on level terms.

Habibou Ouedraogo put the game out of reach for Police Ladies with a brilliant drive and finish, beating the Ghanaian goalkeeper to make it 3-0. Sarah Nyarko’s goal, her second of the tournament, offered a brief flash of hope for the Ghanaians.

ASEC Mimosas scored again to restore their three-goal advantage, dashing any chance of a comeback and securing their spot in the final of the ongoing competition.

Police Ladies will now regroup for the third-place playoff scheduled for September 5, 2025.
