The Black Stars held their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium in-front of the media and the general public ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
On Monday, September 1, 2025, 12 players (2 goalkeepers and 10 outfield players) including the teams’ captain Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Bonsu Baah, Elisha Owusu, Joseph Anang were involved in the team’s first training session.
Ghana Football Association’s Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum explained that the rest of the squad including Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus are expected to report in camp before the team leave for Chad.
He also explained that some of those players are engaged in transfers and will join the team later.

The Black Star will have another training session ( Behind closed door) at the Accra Sports Stadium, on Tuesday, September 2, with the full squad before departing for N’Djamena.
There will be another training session on Wednesday, September 3 at N’Djamena before finally facing Chad on Match Day 7 of the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifiers, on Thursday 4, 2025.
