The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams has confirmed that each Black Stars player will pocket $5,000 as a winning bonus for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

Head coach Otto Addo will take home $10,000, double the players’ package, in recognition of his leadership role.

The minister made the announcement during a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, just hours before the Black Stars’ scheduled departure to N’Djamena for Thursday’s clash with Chad.

The incentive package is aimed at motivating the players to maintain their fine form and keep Ghana on course for a fifth World Cup appearance.

Ghana currently sits top of Group I with 15 points from six matches, having won five and lost only once. Otto Addo’s side will train in Chad on Wednesday before taking on the hosts at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 1 pm.

After the Chad game, Ghana will face Mali in Accra on September 8, 2025, before wrapping up their qualifying campaign in October against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
