‘Adaka Tea,’ one of Daddy Lumba’s most iconic funeral songs, took center stage on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the one-week memorial of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu.

Serwaa Amihere, ET Akonor, and other attendees were seen dancing to the emotional tune.

The song, which reflects on the journey of life and death, has become a staple for DJs at funerals both in Ghana and abroad.

Performed by Daddy Lumba and Ateaa Tina, it was released in 2003 as part of his Bubra album. The song’s impact extended far beyond Ghana, reaching audiences in Germany and other countries where Daddy Lumba was widely respected for his musical craft.

‘Daddy Lumba’s unfulfilled dream was to become a Pan-Africanist’ – ET Akonor

GhanaWeb’s cameras captured a touching moment as Serwaa Amihere, a loyal fan of Daddy Lumba, his longtime friend and former manager ET Akonor, members of the business community, friends, and loved ones sang the song word-for-word.

The scene not only highlighted the emotional power of ‘Adaka Tea’ but also served as a living tribute to the late Lumba, whose music continues to resonate even after his passing.

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra.
