Kumasi Asante Kotoko is battle-ready to face off reigning Ghana Premier League (GPL) champions, Bibiani Gold Stars, in a highly anticipated Champion of Champions showdown today, Sunday, August 31, 2025.
To Kotoko, revenge is high on their agenda, while Gold Stars, in their own backyard, will want to consolidate their supremacy over the Ashanti Warriors, who have been in decline recently.
This is what makes the match an intense and thrilling encounter, with both teams looking to emerge victorious at the 7,000-capacity Dun’s Park in Bibiani.
Gold Stars has been in top form recently, with a string of impressive wins in their last few matches during the Top 4 tournament, while Kotoko has experienced a poor run during the same tournament without a win in 3 games.
However, Kotoko skipper Samba O’Neil says the team is poised for a painful revenge against their hosts this afternoon, despite struggling to find its footing.
