Ghanaian musician Prosper Dossey, popularly known as Prosdos, has received a prestigious attestation of recognition from the Union Africaine pour la Culture (UAC) for his outstanding contributions to African music and cultural promotion.

The award, presented in Lomé and signed by Hon. Tcheou Gnaname “Nicolson”, President of UAC, formally acknowledges Prosdos as a dedicated artist, cultural ambassador, and active member of the continental cultural body.

The attestation recognizes Prosper Dossey not only as a musician but also as President of the Confederation of Cultural and Creative Industries of Africa – Ghana Section, a role that highlights his leadership in advancing African arts and culture.

    The certificate reads in part:

“I, the undersigned Hon. Tcheou Gnaname ‘Nicolson,’ President of the Union Africaine pour la Culture (UAC), attest that Prosper Dossey is President of the Confederation of Cultural Industries of Africa – Ghana Section, adherent to UAC, and an active member of African Cultural Organizations. In witness whereof, this attestation is delivered as proof of his cultural standing. Done in Lomé, January 18, 2025.”

    Celebrating Prosdos’ Cultural Impact

This honour adds to a growing list of recognitions for Prosdos, who continues to gain attention across Africa for his unique artistry. Known for his breakout single “Bebe Shokoma”, he has performed at major events such as the Aspatere Festival and Akwaba Festival, where his performances are remembered for both their energy and creativity.

His recent awards include recognition from Togo Culture Internationale (2023) and the Regroupement pour la Culture Togolaise (RECTO, 2023), solidifying his reputation as one of Ghana’s rising cultural ambassadors.

Currently working on his first full studio album, Prosdos is determined to push Ghanaian and African music to new heights. He has also revealed plans, in partnership with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), to host a cultural festival in Ketu South an initiative aimed at promoting peace and unity through music.

Despite challenges with financial support, Prosdos remains committed to his vision of using music as a tool to celebrate and preserve Africa’s cultural heritage.
