French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco is set to release Ghana international Mohammed Salisu in the current summer transfer window, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

Since joining the Principality club from Southampton in 2023, Salisu has yet to pin down a regular place in the starting lineup. The enterprising centre-back was mostly used as a back-up option, marking just 24 appearances across competitions for the French club last season.

The former Real Valladolid defender initially struggled with injuries in his first season, and despite starting more regularly in his second campaign, he eventually became a backup option.

His last start for Monaco was back in February 2025. However, the arrival of England top defender Eric Dier has worsen the situation for the Black Stars centre-back.

Sources close to GHANAsoccernet.com can disclose that the French Ligue 1 outfit are looking to offload players before the closure of the current transfer window, with Salisu no exception.

Meanwhile, Premier League side Crystal Palace and Greek giants Olympiacos have expressed firm interest to snap up the highly-rated Ghanaian defender.

The defender joined Monaco in summer 2023, signing a five-year deal with the Principality club. Since joining Monaco, the Black Stars defender has racked up 37 appearances, scoring three goals and an assist across the period.
