A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women’s Organisers from the Central Region have pledged their unwavering support for the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 general election, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Their endorsement comes on the eve of Dr Bawumia’s submission of his nomination forms for the party’s flagbearer election, scheduled for January 31, 2026.

In a video sighted by GhanaWeb, the group is seen singing praises in honour of Dr Bawumia during a visit to the office of the 2028 flagbearer hopeful in Accra on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

77% of NPP delegates endorse Bawumia for flagbearer

The endorsement by the women adds to the growing wave of support for Dr Bawumia’s re-election as the party’s flagbearer for a second consecutive term.

Following the opening of nominations by the NPP, Dr Bawumia’s campaign team has announced that he will officially submit his forms at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Earlier, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, about 400 NPP youth organisers also picked up nomination forms on behalf of Dr Bawumia.

According to the women, their support for Dr Bawumia is rooted in his suitability to lead the party into the 2028 general election, describing him as incorruptible and a unifier.
