Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Davido, has made a statement regarding his much-anticipated album titled 5ive.

In an interview with Emmy Award-winning TV host Rocsi Diaz, shared on TikTok, Davido disclosed that he almost removed one of his most popular songs from the album.

He explained that the song, “With You”, which features Omah Lay is a true African classic, adding that he is happy not to have taken it from the album.

“It is so funny I almost didn’t add With You, and that is crazy. Every time I think about almost taking it out, my heart starts beating. Shoutout to Omah Lay, I am just happy that we were able to collaborate on just a true African classic,” he said.

Davido further outlined plans to create the biggest African music festival in the world.

‘There is nothing you can do, we had a fairytale wedding’ – Davido jabs critics

Although he did not disclose the specific country where the festival will be held, Davido noted that preparations are already underway.

“I want to create the biggest African festival in the world. I am not sure yet, but I have already started the blueprint,” he added.
