    Finance minister sets up three agric financing committees Finance minister sets up three agric financing committees

    The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has inaugurated three technical committees to advance the agenda of strengthening agriculture financing and enhancing productivity in key economic crops.

    The committees are the Agriculture Financing Committee, the Oil Palm Project Committee, and the Cocoa Project Committee.

    According to the minister, the Technical Committee on Agriculture Financing has been tasked to, within three weeks, develop a comprehensive policy framework to support financing for strategic economic crops.

    The committee is made up of representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Ghana, COCOBOD, Tree Crop Development Authority, among others.

    The Agriculture Financing Committee is made up of:

    1. David Collison – Ministry of Finance

    2. Samuel Arkhurst – Ministry of Finance

    3. Cynthia Arthur – Ministry of Finance

    4. Frederick Amissah – Ministry of Finance

    5. Emelia Awuviri – Bank of Ghana

    6. Desmond Agbogah – Bank of Ghana

    7. Samuel Yeboah – GIRSAL

    8. Kojo Aboagye-Yeboah – EXIM Bank

    9. Prof Eric Osei-Assibey – Development Bank of Ghana

    10. Edna Baffoe-Bonnie – Ministry of Finance (Secretary)

    11. Deborah Ashun – Ministry of Finance (Secretary)

    Membership of the Oil Palm Project Committee includes representatives from:

    • Ministry of Food and Agriculture

    • Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry

    • Ministry of Finance (Coordinating Director & Real Sector Division)

    • Tree Crops Development Authority (Andy Osei Okrah, Yaw Adjei Agyapong)

    • Forestry Commission (Roselyn Fosu Adjei, Thomas Gyambrah)

    • Environmental Protection Authority (Anthony Appianti, Dominic Peh)

    Membership of the Cocoa Project Committee includes representatives from:

    • Ministry of Food and Agriculture

    • Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry

    • Ministry of Finance (Coordinating Director & Real Sector Division)

    • Ghana Cocoa Board (Ato Boateng, Dr James Kofi Kutsoati, Dr Francis Baah, Wahab Suleman)

    • Tree Crops Development Authority (Rev Edward Afari, Yaw Agyei Agyapong)

    • Forestry Commission (Roselyn Fosu Adjei, Thomas Gyambrah)

    • Environmental Protection Authority (Anthony Appianti, Dominic Peh)
