On Monday, August 25, relatives of the late singer met with Chief of Staff Julius Debrah at the Jubilee House, where they officially announced his death. The visit also touched on funeral preparations and the possibility of state support in honouring his legacy.

The family revealed that a one-week memorial observance will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium. The gathering is expected to draw musicians, dignitaries, and fans who wish to celebrate Daddy Lumba’s enduring influence on Ghanaian music.
