Ghana Football Association (GFA) in a major restructuring of the juvenile football system has merged the existing U-15 national team into unified boys and girls units.

Until now, the U-15 category consisted of separate schools U-15 Boys and Girls team, managed in alliance with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and National U-15 Boys and Girls team under the GFA’S full supervision, each with distinct management and technical staff.

The new policy consolidated these into one U-15 boys’ team led by head coach Salifu Fatawu and one U-15 girls’ team with Sandra Boakye leading them.

The harmonisation seeks to eliminate resource duplication, enhance efficiency and foster stronger collaboration with schools, ensuring a structured pathway for Ghana’s most talented young players to develop and compete at higher levels.

The strategic move which is part of the GFA’S “Power to the youth” initiative, emphasises its commitment to grassroots football development.
