TikTok star Sexy Afrah could not hold back her tears as she recounted the pain of sacrificing her marriage in the UK only to be betrayed and disappointed by a Ghanaian man she fell deeply in love with.

Appearing on The Delay Show, the 25-year-old narrated how she abandoned a stable life with her white husband abroad after being swept off her feet by a Ghanaian man she met on TikTok.

Influencer Sexy Afrah reveals shocking reason for leaving her husband abroad

“He promised me heaven,” she said softly. “I lied to my husband that my grandmother had died just so I could return to Ghana to be with him. My husband resisted, my mother objected but I didn’t listen. I wanted to prove my love to him.”

But the reality of life with the Ghanaian man, she revealed, was far from what she imagined.

“All he did for me in two years was rent a chamber and hall in Kumasi, buy a fridge and some chairs. That was it. He didn’t take care of my family like he promised. He even wanted me to cut ties with them.”

Her voice trembled as she recalled the moment her mother fell seriously ill in Obuase. That was when Afrah broke down on set, with tears rolling down her cheeks.

“I wept,” she admitted. “I wept because here was my mother—this woman who had suffered so much to raise me—and I had abandoned her because of the love I had for this man. I had turned my back on her.”

She said the incident forced her to confront the reality of her situation.

“I called him and reminded him of his promise to take care of my family. That was when he finally started sending money—GH¢1,000 a month for my mum’s upkeep. But by then, the damage was already done. My soul was bleeding.”

Despite enduring humiliation and online criticism, Afrah said she remained in the toxic relationship, obeying every instruction from the man—even when it meant insulting her husband abroad.

“Whatever he told me, I did. That’s how blind I was.”

But over time, she realized the love was draining her emotionally and spiritually.

“He was hurting my soul. People on social media could see things weren’t working, but I kept hoping it would change,” she recounted.

Eventually, she summoned the courage to walk away. “I realized it wasn’t worth it. One day, I sent him a voice note and told him it’s over. That was it.”

Her voice steadied as she reflected on the experience.

“I made a big mistake. But I have learned. I won’t repeat it again.”

For Afrah, the heartbreak is a painful chapter in her young life—a chapter that saw her leave love, family, and dignity behind for a dream that turned into a nightmare.
