A disturbing practice hidden in plain sight is about to be fully exposed.

For two weeks, GhanaWeb has teased readers and viewers of its upcoming documentary, “Sex for Fish,” which looks at the grim truth behind the exploitation teenage girls — a hard-hitting investigation into the demeaning culture at Ntsin, a small coastal town in the heart of Cape Coast, where young girls are lured into sexual encounters by men in exchange for things as basic as fish.

The teaser alone has gripped the nation, pulling in more than 60,000 views online, further sparking heated conversations about the deep-rooted social cankers that fuel teenage pregnancy and exploitation in Ghana’s coastal communities.

Now, the full story will finally be told. On Monday, August 25, GhanaWeb will release the complete documentary, laying bare how desperation, poverty, and predatory behavior combine to strip young women of their dignities and their futures — all for what locals simply call “Sex for Fish.”

“Sex for Fish” goes beyond shocking revelations. It digs into the human cost, the silent sufferings of girls caught in this trap, and the uncomfortable questions society must face about culture, neglect, and accountability.

This is not just another documentary. It is a mirror held up to a painful reality that many would rather ignore.

Watch the full documentary premiere on GhanaWeb TV on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Meanwhile, watch below the trailer for GhanaWeb’s upcoming documentary on teenage girls and how fish is stealing their futures:
