    Dancehall star Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after meeting bail conditions tied to an investigation involving his yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus.

    The artiste was detained on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after voluntarily appearing at EOCO headquarters in Accra alongside his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo.

    The inquiry centres on allegations of irregularities surrounding the luxury vehicle, which was earlier seized by authorities on suspicion of being connected to a wider financial scandal in the United States.

    Investigators are also probing possible breaches of Ghana’s tax regulations relating to the car.

    Initial reports this morning indicated that Shatta Wale had been granted bail of GH¢10 million with two sureties.

    However, his manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, confirmed today, Thursday, August 21, 2025, that the bail conditions were reviewed and reduced to GH¢5 million.

    The saga surrounding Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini has drawn widespread attention, given the artiste’s flamboyant lifestyle and his reputation as one of Ghana’s most influential musicians.
