Socialite Afia Schwarzenegger has once again caused a stir online, this time by criticising the organizers of the Ghana Music Awards USA and gospel singer Empress Gifty.

Empress Gifty, during the just-ended Ghana Music Awards USA, emerged as the overall winner, clinching the prestigious Artiste of the Year title.

During the event, which took place on August 16, 2025, Empress Gifty, who was in the same category as King Promise, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Fameye, KiDi, and King Paluta, beat the musicians to win the ultimate award.

However, in a recent development, Afia Schwarzenegger has accused Empress Gifty of buying the ‘Artiste of the Year’ Award.

In a social media post shared on Instagram on August 19, 2025, she wrote, “What is there to talk about on UTV. Is it the award that they bought or what?” she said.

Afia Schwarzenegger added that within six months, she would launch her own award scheme and give the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award to Patapaa.

“I am also in America, so you people should give me six months and I will organise a music awards where I will give the Artiste of the Year to Patapaa,” she added.
