Ghana’s boxing fraternity is set for a thrilling night on September 12, 2025, as the Bukom Boxing Arena hosts “Monaco, The Night to Prove,” presented by Sports Education and Management (SEM).
The headline bout features a heated Cruiserweight contest between Jacob Dickson also knonw as The Beast and Ernest Akushey popularly known as Baubali.
At Friday’s official fighter introduction, both boxers wasted no time stoking the rivalry. Dickson, confident and outspoken, vowed to end Baubali’s career early.
“I will switch off Baubali in rounds three or four and end his career. He lacks boxing IQ,” Dickson declared.
But Akushey fired back, promising a major upset.
“I have corrected my mistakes. I am bringing something new and explosive. My fans worldwide will see,” he responded, thanking supporters across the globe.
Beyond the main event, SEM announced two landmark signings. Edward Coleman, representing SEM, confirmed a three-year deal with reigning national Super Welterweight champion Musah Rahman Lawson (Awoodade) and 13-year-old juvenile prospect Benjamin Ankrah.
The contract includes scholarships, welfare packages and educational support, ensuring development both inside and outside the ring.
Coleman emphasised SEM’s broader vision, “This package covers advertising and managing them to become international champions.”
Lawson expressed optimism that the deal will propel him onto the global stage.
“This is my ladder to the top ranks in the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO,” he affirmed.
The September 12 card also features other big names, including Daniel “Emperor” Gorsh and John “Expensive Boxer” Laryea from Bronx Boxing Club.
