A lady has joined the recently ongoing trend of young Nigerians sharing their before and after of using weed, earning the praise of netizens.

The lady @nasashamusic joins an ever-growing list of Nigerian youths taking to social media to share their stories of their time using weed and after they were able to quit.

In her post, she shared a side-by-side image of when she was using weed, and when she was finally able to quit, along with a testimony of the damaging side effects it had on her as a person.

    She wrote,

“Hate to be that guy but this is me when I was battling weed addiction vs now and I chose the most ordinary pic for this. Ngl I love weed, helped me through my toughest times but let’s not deny the damages it causes physically, mentally and emotionally even.”

The lady is not the only one, as many others on X (Twitter) came forward with their stories. A man with the username @meloadebanks shared his 4-year transformation after quitting weed.

“Weed didn’t just slow my mind. It dimmed my face.

The first picture was me a few days before quitting. I thought I was “chilling,” but I was just tired in my body, my skin, my eyes,” He revealed.

Their post has earned praise online, with many congratulating them for overcoming their addiction. However, some were still skeptical, questioning whether it was only quitting weed that caused such a drastic transformation.

They argued that they saw no difference or blamed the type of weed they were smoking at the time, believing that weed does not cause as much harm as they were implying.

This back and forth between people who believe and those who don’t has come up on the testimonial of other quitters, with some condemning while others defended weed.
