Ghanaian musician and actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, received a royal seal of approval today when the Dormaahene warmly welcomed him at the Sunyani Airport ahead of the premiere of his latest movie, Captain Ibrahim Traoré (The Last African Hero).

The unexpected meeting turned into a memorable moment when the Dormaahene shook Lilwin’s hand, handed him a couple of new GHC 200 notes, and declared, “you are the number one star in Ghana.”

The Sunyani premiere is the latest stop in the nationwide rollout of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, which has already enjoyed a grand opening in Kumasi on August 2, 2025, at the SG Mall.

That earlier event drew a massive turnout, with fans filling the cinema to capacity and spilling into the surrounding mall area.

The movie directed by Jackson K. Bentum sees Lilwin portray the resilience and charisma of Burkina Faso’s president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, in a story blending action, political drama, and African pride.

The premiere of the movie is expected to take place at the Eusbett Cinema on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
